Motorcycle Repair: 07 honda shadow VLX 600cc lights dimming and flickering back to normal, honda shadow vlx, last knight

i have an 07 Honda shadow VLX 600cc and i noticed last knight driving home that my light would dim and i few seconds later they would go back to normal and then they would dim again. the bike never died on me but even the light in my speedometer would dim at the same time as the head light. what could be causing this?

This is characteristic of a voltage regulator. This part adjusts itself to maintain a constant voltage going back into the battery. If it fails or is starting to fail a power fluctuation occurs. Lights dim and brighten, and in extremes engines can cut in and out. You should take this to a qualified professional to have them verify that this is the problem.
