Motorcycle Repair: lock nut threads, pitch gauge, thread pitch

Does a Delcron transmission final drive lock nut have the same threads as a harley Davidson trany?

I am not completely familiar with Harley transmissions. I am assuming that delkron and HD tranny are close to the same year. If not without further information all I can tell you is to check the threads on both shafts with a thread pitch gauge and tape measure. I would assume that if they are both for the same application the threads would match.
