QUESTION: well again i only hear it when hot,,stopped i think its left because idont hear it on the other side at all bike has 30k i just purchased & put 250 miles on it,,could it be a loose primary?? it's not slapping not really a knock just a very noticeable tick when idleing when hot

Answer
Ticking is usually a lifter. Its where the pushrod is slapping against the rocker. It doesnt really hurt anything. its just annoying. If you want to replace it you would have to change all 4 of them, since you wouldnt know which one it is
Good luck and happy riding
