what is the best way to change a starter on a 2005 flstc

Answer
First disconnect the battery. Next, you have to drain the primary. remov the primary cover, motor sprocket, chain adjuster and clutch basket. then you remove the jackshaft from the starter.
Next, you need to remove the exhaust system if it is in the way of the starter. remove the starter bolts and wires from the starter and pull it out.
