Motorcycle Repair: exhausts, sound thanks, vance and hines

Question
I have a 09 superglide.Everything is stock on my bike.Want to put on vance and hines straight shot pipes.Guy at the hd parts counter said I would need to remap the fuel injection, etc.Otherwise he said engine would run hotter. Many of my Harley friends say BS.As long as it is only pipes and not changing the air intake they say it is not neccessary. At this point not lookin for improvement in performance just want a better sound. Thanks for your advice.

Answer
your bike came from the factory a little lean. Changing the pipes to a more free flowing pipes makes the bike run even leaner. Leaner means more heat. To lean and you could burn a valve. You dont have to remapp, but if you do you bike will run better and correctly. If it were me I would do the remapp
Good luck and happy riding
