Motorcycle Repair: Bikes been sitting for years, electroglide, harley

Question
I have a 2003 electroglide classic that I haven't done anything with for the last 5 years. After my husband passed I couldn't get rid of it but I didn't know much about Harley's or motorcycles at all. I just want to know what I should do first. It hasn't been started in years. My son doesn't want to get rid of it so I was going to slowly get it going again. Any advise will help . Thank you.

You need to start by gettig a new battery. remove the old gas in the tank and put in fresh. then start the bike. If its carberated you will probably have to rebuild the carb.
Once you have it running I would change the fluids
