Motorcycle Repair: Intermittent missing, air fuel mixture, fuel air mixture

Question
QUESTION: 2007 Ultra, V&H True Duals, SE Air Cleaner, Power Commander III.  Problem:  Engine misses, or hesitates, intermittently at approx 2400 - 2800 rpm in all gears.  Doesn't miss at lower rpm, doesn't miss at higher rpm.  Happens both under load, and while decellerating.  First noticed at 45,000 miles.  Dealer removed Power Commander EX (California version) and installed PC III and spent time tuning.  While it does run better, underlying missing problem still exists.  Dealer perplexed.  Driving me nuts!  Please help.

ANSWER: T those RPMs does the dealer know what the air/fuel mixture is?

QUESTION: Mike, thanks for the prompt response.  I can ask dealer if he knows fuel/air mixture.  But, it happened with the original EX Power Commander, and again with the PC III, even after the dealer spent a couple of days playing with the mixture.  He finally said he couldn't "tune it out."  Then he said that he can't go changing out ignition parts because that would be too expensive.  When I reminded him that I have the extended warranty, he is now saying that he never really observed the issue himself, and that I must be lugging the engine.  It's really getting frustrating.  Thanks!

Answer
The only thing I can think of is your bike is running lean in that RPM range. That is why I asked about the air/fuel misture.
Since you have a extented warrenty, the I would really press him to repair it. Not seeing it is a cop out! If he says he never saw it, then how is he tuning it and test riding it? If it is happening in all gears then you can be lugging the engine. Have him take it for a ride!
