Motorcycle Repair: forks 73 Sprint, triple trees, pinch points

Question
QUESTION: Mike, sorry for the remedial questions, I am learning as I go. but, as I strapped down and brought my 73 Sprint home, the middle of the front forks were leaking oil, am sure the pressure from the straps on the handlebars was pulling them down... but is this evidence enough to change the seals out on the front forks ?
thanks in advance
Ron

QUESTION: (out of the triple trees?) yes, I assume it's the only way to replace the seals... I unscrewed the things on the bottom one to release the pinched pressure, and tried hammering a screwdriver up it to open it up - and am twisting like a fool... the wont budge

Answer
If you have released the pinch points on the triple trees, the part that the forks are in, and they wont come out, then try spraying some WD40 aroudn the pinch points and let it sit for a while. If they stil wont come out, then you might have to drive them out with a rubber mallet.
