Motorcycle Repair: Drive Chain Adjustment, axle nut, ft lbs

How Do I adjust the Drive chain to Take out the slack on an 82 shovel Fxr?

Answer
loosen the axle nut. infront of the axle nut you will see the adjuster nut. Turn the nut on both sides until you get about 1/2 inch flex in the chain. Now you have to measure from the end of the adjuster to the center of the axle to make sure they are both adjusted the same. then tighten the axle nut to 60 FT/LBS
