Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki GN250 starting probs, suzuki gn250, model bikes

Question
Hi, I have problems starting my suzuki GN250,I have only had it for a week and it went for the first 2 days, The starter turns the engine over but it won't fire, it is getting fuel, could it be an electrical problem to do with the ignition system?

Answer
Stella, later model bikes have several safety switches in place to prevent the bike from taking off with the side stand down or in gear. There is a switch on the side stand, just above the pivot and one on the clutch lever bracket.

Be sure that you start the bike in neutral and with the side stand UP. Hopefully that is all that the problem really is.

You didn't give a year, condition or the mileage so I am not sure if there could be other issues involved with this situation.
