Motorcycle Repair: 2003 dyna fxd clutch adjustment, clutch adjustment, lock nut

Adjusted for slack(a lot) at handle. loosened lock nut and turned in threaded srew several times. could not get any tension back in cable. backed out the threaded screw again at clutch and still can not get any tension back when adjusting the cable adjuster. could the ball end come undone at right side of bike?  Thanks!

It could have broken off inside. Try this first. Loosen the cable and then adjust the clutch. Slowly turn the adjuster screw inward until it bottoms out and then back out about 1/8 turn. then adjust he cable. If it still doesnt adjust then you are going to have to remove the cover and do an inspection
