Motorcycle Repair: Loosing Gear, deuce, good luck

I just had a 10K service done on my 2006 Deuce.  After I got it back when I upshift from second to third gear it misses third gear completely.  I have to downshift then upshift again until it finally engages third gear.  This only happens every once in a while and it only happens from second to third gear.  Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

First, you need to check the shifter adjustment on the trans to make sure the shifter fork is in the middle or it will shift past. If that is not the problem then you will have to remove he top cover and do a inspection on the shifter drum and shifter forks.
