Motorcycle Repair: 72 Tiger, needle jet, small fortune

Question
Hello Deron, Sorry I dropped off there, but we had a baby girl over the weekend and my carb project was forced to the back burner. I have since confirmed that the choke was removed... why I don't know... and a screw was put in place of the cable. I have the air cleaner off the bike and the intake exposed. At this point the carb is still on the bike. Am I aiming for the needle jet? Also, I have been offered a 10-R930 from a guy who says it works fine. Should I grab it for parts? Thanks john (f a x 4 3 5 3 3 3 6 5 0 9)

Answer
At this stage you are looking to make sure that the main jet body is tight and to find out what main jet is in it...also to see where the clip is on the needle.....check float level and so on...I sent a picture to the number you provided....yes, grab the extra 930, unless he wants a small fortune for it...they are 150.00new and 50.00 if you can hear it run a motorcycle....25 if its off the bike ....whether it comes with "promises" or not.

Let me know what you find
