Motorcycle Repair: starter, starter solenoid, power arc

QUESTION: I just got a 79 lowrider shovel, it has a 5 speed and computer on it, it was running no problem the other nigh I gotr home and shut it off, this morning I hit the start switch and I can hear the solenoid click ( i think) but nothing else, I figured that the bat was low I jumped it and after several attempts it started right away, after turning it off and charging the bat, it just clicks , any ideas?

ANSWER: What do you mean it has a computer on it?

QUESTION: the last owner put a MC ignitions power arc 2  on it

Answer
Check the wire going from the starter relay to the starter solenoid. If you have power at that wire when you hit the starter button then the starter solenoid is bad. If the there is no power then the starter relay is bad
