Motorcycle Repair: 88 honda vtr 250 interceptor, honda vtr 250, honda interceptor

Question
I have this 88 Honda interceptor that I can't get to fire. I thought it might be the coils so I replaced those and still no fire. I was told it might be the rectifier but I don't want to pay $200 for a part that I don't need. Could you give me any help on this it would be great. Thank You

Answer
Dewayne...  The pulse generators (http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/honda-motorcycle-vtr250-interceptor...) start the ignition process, by generating reference signals to the ignition control module.

The module (REAR FENDER illustration) does the control of the sparks to the coils.

The rectifier has to do with the charging system, not spark making.
