Motorcycle Repair: Speedometer cable attach, speedometer cable, interference fit

Question
I'm replacing the forks on '94 Heritage Softail.  The speedo cable to front wheel attach point has no wrench flats or other visible way of removing the cable so I can remove the wheel.  Is it just an interference fit that just needs to be pulled out?  Never done it before and don't want to screw it up.  Thanks Mike.

Answer
Use some pliers and the cable will screw out of the drive unit. you dont really need to take it out of the drive unit though. the drive unit is held in by the axle. Once you pull the axle out and lift the bike or slide the wheel out the drive unit will come out.
Good luck and happy riding
