QUESTION: It's on a 2003 American Iron Horse Slammer. But it uses the same kit as a stock Harley rebuild kit.

ANSWER: remove the clutch lever and pin from the master cylinder. Looking inside you will see a ring clip. You need to remove the ring clip amd the guts of the cylinder will slide out. Once you have then out clean the inside and lube it with fluid as well as the new parts so they will slide easily. Put them in in reverse order and install the ring clip.

QUESTION: Thanks so much. One more thing...will I need to bleed the system? If so, what is the proceedure? I'm a much better rider than a mechanic.

Answer
yes, you would have to bleed the master cylinder. Locate the bleeder valve, pump the clutch lever and while holding the lever closed, open the bleeder. Keep doing this until you get fluid out. Make sure the master cylinder full of fluid
