Motorcycle Repair: oil cooler, oil coolers, twin cams

Question
Hey again Mike.  I had asked previously about an oil cooler for a 91 FLHS.  I tried to locate one online by going to the Jagg website, and Sifton website.  I can find oil coolers for my year bike, but the oil filter adapters fit twin cams, or Sportster and Evo's with front mounted spin on oil filters.  My filter is spin on but located at the rear of the engine.  I don't know if there is enough room there for an adapter.  If I can't use an oil filter adapter, which part of the oil circuit should I install the cooler and thermostat-bypass?  Thanks again..........Bill

Answer
I dont think the adapter will fit on your bike. When installing the cooler go from the return line on the filter to the cooler then go to the oil tank. The thermostat would go inline before the cooler so the oil wont go through it.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
