Motorcycle Repair: 1968 CL175 clutch, honda cl175, oil level

Question
I have a 1968 Honda CL175 and the last time that I rode it the clutch would not release.  Do you think that this is this an adjustment problem and if so how do you adjust the clutch.  I noticed that the crankcase has leaked oil and I did not check to make sure that it is full.  Does the oil level have anything to do with the clutch operation?
Thanks,
Bill

Answer
Bill, it's not uncommon for a bike's clutch to stick together if the bike has been sitting for a long time.  If you can get the bike started, just ride around for a little while while holding the clutch in.  The torque and heat will loosen up the clutch.  Just be careful not to over rev the engine when it does break loose.
