Motorcycle Repair: Honda CL200 Carb issue, fuel starvation, starvation problem

Question
Hello, I just sent you a question a day ago, but now i seem to have another issue with my CL200. One of the carbs, when the adjustment screw (throttle stop screw, not air screw) is turned, does not respond at all. A few days ago it was working fine, and the other was not. I cleaned the jets and float bowls of both carbs and now the other carb responds well and the other does not respond at all to adjustment and when i put the bike in gear and accelerate, it seems like it is struggling to even move. do you have any idea what this could be?

Much appreciated,
Mike

Answer
Michael, your engine is only running on one cylinder.  It could be spark or fuel.  Does your engine have one or two points. If you have one point, it could be a fouled plug.  You can pull the plug cab off the plug and if the cylinder starts to fire when you hold it about 1/4 inch off the plug, the plug is fouled.

Does the cylinder fire if you put the choke partially on? If it does, it's still a fuel starvation problem.  You can also shut off the fuel and if it starts to fire eventually as the level in the float bowl drops, you have too much fuel getting into the cylinder.

Good Luck
