Motorcycle Repair: 06 Harley Davidson 883R Front Brakes, harley davidson 883r, replacing brake pads

Question
Hello, my question is in regards to my 2006 883r sporster.
I've been experiencing front brake grinding/squeal on my motorcyle. I checked the brake lining and there is still plenty of meat. I have to depend more on my rear brakes than my front ones in order to avoid brake noise now. Also, when replacing brake pads, should I replace the rotors as well, or can they be turned like automotive rotors?

Answer
You can have the rotors turned, but you would have to find somebody with a big enough lathe. You probably would be better off buying new ones. If theya re not warped, then you dont need to turn them. If you are having brake squeal, try a different type of pad. that will usually help with the problem
Good luck and happy riding
