Motorcycle Repair: 01 road king w/ apehangers, head nut, happy holidays

i have 18" apes on my '01 road king. i love 'em however the handling is lacking (esp. wind,rain grooves, etc.) can i see significant improvement by tightening head nut ever so slightly. what about bagger brace, although i feel my problem is more at front end.please advise, thanks,dan.

the problem you are having is the higher you go with the handle bars the more flex you get. You can start by installing solid riser shims, instead of the rubber ones. This will tighten up the handle bars. The down side is you will pick up a little more vibration in them. Tightening the head nut will not help, unless its to loose int he first place.
