Motorcycle Repair: Clutch related oil seal, clymer manual, oil seal

Question
I have a 1969 Honda CA175K3. The mechanism to disengage/engage the clutch includes a shaft that pushes in and out of the left side of the crankcase through an oil seal where the upper and lower crankcases split. The Clymer manual I have for Honda Twins does not address this clutch related oil seal. Can it be replaced externally or will I need to split the top and bottom crankcases to get the old one out and put the new one in?

Answer
Eric, if I remember correctly, you can pull out the push rod and use a seal puller and get it out.  Remember to grease up the new seal before you drive it in or it will peal the outer rubber off. It might also help if you chamfered the out side edge of the seal bore a little to help compress the seal as you drive it in.
