How to pull seat and side plates without breaking anything.

Answer
Rick, which one is it? Rebel or Nighthawk? Same engines, but different chassis.

Nighthawk 250 seat removal is to unlock the helmet lock on the left rear side of the seat, then reach up and release the lever which locks the seat into place.
The side covers are part of a wraparound bodywork part. They are secured at the front with rubber grommets and at the back you must remove the seat and then remove the two vertical bolts that hold the bodywork panels on, then remove it all as one unit.

Pull on the front body panels firmly, but carefully. The rubber grommets get hardened with age and can tear off the front bodywork tabs, if you muscle them off. Lubricate with some silicone grease or better yet, replace with new ones.
