Motorcycle Repair: oil dumping from crankcase breather, crankcase breather, cometic

Question
Hi I have a 90 fatboy which I have just stripped down and rebuilt. Been
clocking up the 1000 mile run in and the bike pukes oil from the crankcase
regularly. Have changed the check ball and spring no difference. The bike
only pukes after long journeys when the bike gets really hot... when I stop
even for a few minutes it will puke through the crankcase breather (I have a
puke catcher and filter attached) pouring out of the filter onto the ground.
Short journeys no problem!!

Have just bought a new T&C oil pump that I am about to fit and am hoping
this will solve the problem.  Am also wondering about the nose gasket (put a
cometic on) and valve breather and whether I should also change these?

In the rebuild I got a new nose cone which had the bushings reamed and a
layer of chrome removed from the mating face by an engineer... so
wondering if there might be a problem there.

Am using harley dino oil and harley filter... thinking about changing to synth
to help deal with the oil overheat problem.

Before rebuild would puke occasionally but much much worse now.

Also been experiencing higher than usual vibration (the left filler cap start
coming undone) in the last 200 miles.

Appreciate any thoughts...

Thanks

Answer
For the over heating, check to make sure you are not running to lean and also that your timing is not to far retarted.
On the leaking of oil, I would check to make sure the breather gear is timed correctly. If it off a tooth you will get your problem.
As to the vibration, did you balance the flywheels?
