Motorcycle Repair: CBR 250R oil leak, drain pan, oil leak

Question
I own a 1989 CBR250R MC19.
Recently i have been leaking oil from the drainage bolt approximately a teaspoon a day. I am sure it is coming from around the bolt because i've wiped it clean then fired it up and it appears to be dripping from around that area. I've had a full service and tune 2000kms ago at 25k km service. It would be much appreciated if you could assist me before i take it to the mechanics and get ripped off again.

Answer
David, my experience is limited to older pre-82 honda but it's probably because the plug is loose or they left the aluminum sealing washer off.  If you take flashlight and a mirror you should be able to see if the washer is there.  If it isn't it's easy to replace but you will have to drain out the oil to fix it.  Put a drain pan under it and pull the plug out.  Install the washer and put the plug back in.  Be sure to torque it properly and re-fill it with oil and you should be good to go. Don't over torque the plug or you'll have a lot of trouble getting it out again.
