Motorcycle Repair: 1980 ct 70 - no power, ct 70, condensor

Question
I have a 1980 ct 70. It was running really good one minute and then it started to spit and sputter. It idles okay and still starts okay, but as soon as I give it throttle is when it starts to act up. ( I am knew to having a bike )

Answer
It depends on what is causing the bike to act up.  It's either a fuel problem or an ignition problem.  If you put a little choke on and it improves, you're looking for a fueling problem and a carb cleaning may be required.  If it doesn't get better, you probably are looking for an ignition problem and I'd start with the plug, condensor and coils in that order.
