hello john,
sorry i took so long it sound like to me you may have a weak coil or coil pack are possibbly a bad plug wire or a fouled plug.You can take your coil to a local auto zone they have the equipment to test it for you. what you might want to do if crank the bike up at night and look around the coil for any firing shooting out frrom it if you do then your couil is bad hope this helps you.
