Motorcycle Repair: battery discharges, power charges, starter relay

Question
brand new battery, took bike out and parked and haven't been
able to ride for a week due to bad weather. when i tried to start the bike i found the battery had lost 3/4 of it's power. charges up battery and when i hit the start switch i got buzzing noise on the left side of battery . i have a 1994 honda vt1100. i'm not sure what the object on the left of battery is but it's round and has red and black wire on the top. red looks like it's coming from + lead that connects to battery.
any help would be great.

Answer
That buzzing is the starter relay.  It's telling you the battery is dead.  It's possible the battery has just given out.  Charge it up and take it to autozone or someplace similar and they will load test the battery for free.  That will tell you if you have a battery problem or something else.
