RV Repair: 2005 yuma popup crank, set screw, vice grip

Question
I have a 2005 yuma popup that works great poping up but when I lower it the the tube unscrews and comes out. I have to lower it with a vice grip.

Answer
see if there is a set screw that is unscrewing, or a pin in the shaft that is missing.  This would not hold the tube in place.  When going up, you are tight against the shaft the tube turns, and all is good.  Coming down, tube unscrewing is less resistance when left cranking.  You should be able to access that from under a seat in the area where your crank is at.  You may have to move a false wall or a fastened down cover to get to it.  Removing that cover won't hurt the camper because it is made to be removed.  Good luck
