Motorcycle Repair: Motor swap, honda nighthawk 650, 1984 honda nighthawk

I have a 1983 and 1984 Honda nighthawk 650. How difficult is it to swap the motor from the 83 into the 84? The 84 motor is no good, but the rest of the bike much better condition than the 83. Are there may things to disconnect? I am mechanically inclined, worked on car motors but never on a bike.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Robert, it's not much more than a engine swap in a car.  You have to disconnect everything attached to the engine and then put it all back on once the engine is changed out.  I don't think there's any major changes between the 83 and 84 but my experience is on pre-82 Hondas so I can't say for sure.
