Motorcycle Repair: oil pump, oil light, oil pump

hi mike i ask U last year about my 97 dyna glide  smoking a little when first started up and u were right  it was bad valve guide seals but now igot the bike back had new guide valve seals put in and i had a ev 27 cam put in the same time  i got the bike out to ride to work went around 200 yards and heard a noise down around the trany and the oil light came on so i got it back home  and had the repair shop that does my work come and get it he got it apart and he really don't know why but the oil pump he said there four gears and 2 of them the teeth were gone  he said he never seen that happen before  do u have any idea what would cause that to happen

That is somthing new to me too. I have never seen the teeth gone on oil pump gears. They are hardened gears and it would take alot to break the teeth. Somthing hard would have to go throught he oil pump to do that. I think I would ask to see the gears to be sure they are right about the gears
