Motorcycle Repair: maybe you can help me?, vlx 600, shotguns

I have a vlx 600 and just put some new pipes on the bike( cobra fatty shotguns, i fired up the bike and it ran fine for 30 secounds so i shut it off, then i fired it up again and it was only firing on the rear cyclinder the front pipe is cold, please help

John, I can't imagine the exhaust installation causing the front cylinder to cut out.  So the first thing I'd do is take one of the front plugs out or stick another plug into the plug socket and find out if it has spark. If it doesn't have spark you're looking for a pinched wire or a disconnected wire to the front coil.   


If it has spark, we're looking for a fuel problem. Open up the carb drains and see if fuel runs out.  Let it run dry and then crank the engine and see if fuel is being delivered to the carbs. If you have fuel being delivered to both cylinders, we'll need to talk some more.

Let me know if this didn't help and I'll see if I can't come up with some additional options.
