QUESTION: I just had the jets replaced and the manifold, gasket.  I have 6400 miles and just don't ride much.  after the repairs it ran great now it sit a couple months and now it will not idle, running at high rpm it runs great. downshifting it back fires bad. it will not idle and backfires at low speed ...help

ANSWER: Your jets are plugged with dirt. Its probably the air/fuel mixture since it will not idle

You would have to get a rebuild kit and take the carb apart. It is best if you have it soaked in the carb soak tank to remove all the dirt, but you might be able to clean it with carb cleaner. You should be able to do it yourself as long as you take your time. When removing the air/fuel mixture screw, make sure you count the number of turns so you can put it back the same.
