Motorcycle Repair: opening carbuerator, pliers, chisel

I'm having trouble loosening the screws of the carb covers.  Can I use WD40? If I should strip the heads of the screws what can be done? Thanks.

WD40 can be used, but may not help. What youll have to do is try to use a pair of pliers, or even a chisel on the side of the bolt so as when you are tapping on it, its going in the direction you want to loosen the bolt...as a last resort, you can always drill out the head and get out the remaining bolt with a pair of pliers..
