Question
Hi Mark I have a 1982 goldwing GL1100I I rode this bike every weekend and one weekend went out to ride and turned the key and had nothing but the radio which is hooked to the acc post on the fuse box. The battery has full charge at that time but after a short period was drained. so put a full charge on it and tried again but the same have checked all fuses i can fine but still nothing can you please help ?

Answer
Hi Rick,

This sounds to me like a grounding problem. I have had similar issues before but where the dash lights would come on, but it seemed as though nothing else was connected or working. I would look over all of the grounds you can find, clean them plus add a star washer inbetween the terminal and frame, just to be extra sure youre getting a good solid ground...

One other thing too, sometimes, where your starter solenoid is located, mounted to the side is the MAIN HARNESS FUSE. Look there as this may also cure your problems...This is sometime overlooked because its not located near the fuse box.

Hope this helps!
