Motorcycle Repair: Honda CL250, mikuni carbs, honda bikes

Question
Hi Wayne,

I recently purchased a 1969 Honda CL250 (Frame # CL250-1003288) and have found it near impossible to find parts (specifically a carburetor). Are there any other Honda bikes that have compatible parts (CB350 maybe)? I'm located in Vancouver, Canada and a contact at Ohio Cycle said this bike was never exported to the U.S. so I'm not sure if you have knowledge of this specific bike but any help would be appreciated. I'm also looking for a compatible electronic ignition conversion kit but can only find one for a CB350. I'm at my breaking point and am quite frustrated with my decision to buy this bike.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Cameron,

You could adapt a newer set of aftermarket
Mikuni carbs in the 24mm or so range,
you would have to rejet them as necessary.
or probably the Honda 305 carbs are similar
but are getting rare as well.
Also,
I would suggest getting in touch with
some of the vintage bike groups for leads
on parts.
