Motorcycle Repair: carb, eagle air, screaming eagle

Question
I have a 1997 Sportster, my husband put a screaming eagle air filter kit on it.When putting it back together he grabbed a bolt for the old filter it was to long.Now it is leaking gas, he think he damaged something,maybe put a hole in the carb.What should we do?

First, your going to have to see where the gas is coming from. I would check the hose and the inlet. If it is coming from the overflow of the carb, the the float might be sticking. If you broke the inlet on the carb you will have to get a new carb
