Motorcycle Repair: starting bike, solenoid, handlebars

trying to use a button connected directly to sollenoid.i ground the b/w . mounted a push button to the handlebars it has one wire i hooked it to the r/w wire. and another wire to r/w to the tail light. turn the key on push the button and the light blink.

-does your button have two wires?

-Hook one wire to the r/w on the solenoid and
try hooking the other button wire directly to the
main fuse from the battery (positive)

-When you push the button it should have
power from the fuse to the button and on to the solenoid.
