Motorcycle Repair: starter/starting, mount victory ohio, starter solenoid

Question
Sir,
I have a 1989 Harley Davidson tour glide.  The problem that I've had with this motorcycle pretty much since I've owned it (bought it brand new) is that for some reason and this seems strange I will go to the bike to start it and all that I hear is the starter trying to engage and all you hear is the click, click click, of the starter.  And as I said, this could be after riding for a few hours or being in the garage overnight Et cetera.  Sometimes a jump start will help other times it won't.  The local Harley dealership said this seems to be a common problem with a lot of the bikes of this period.  It has a relatively new sealed battery.  I am definitely lost with this problem.  After I do get it started, it may start fine for quite a while, and as I said before, you never know when it is going to happen.  Any advice?
Thanks in advance,
John
PS.  Where's your shop, maybe I will trailer it out to you.

Answer
I am located in Mount Victory, Ohio.
On your starter problem, it could be a bad ground, bad starter relay, bad starter, bad starter solenoid, or the bike is not charging at enough rate.
