Motorcycle Repair: 2004 Rebel not Starting., honday, starter button

Question
I just recently bought a 2004 Honday Rebel.  The person who had it before me kept it garaged.  It has only 3,500 miles on it.  Last night I cranked it with no problems.  Tonight all I get is a clicking sound.  The indicator lights and headlight come on just fine.  The fuel swith is on, it's in nuetral, the ignition is on, the clutch is squeezed, the side stand is up, the engine cut off switch is set to Run, then I hit the starter and cliiiiiick.  What may be the cause of that?

Answer
John,
See if you have 12volts going to the starter when you push the starter
button. If so, then your starter is not turning. If not then
check fuses and tighten battery connections. If still no
power to starter, check starter relay, should have 12volts on the
Red/Yellow wire when you push the starter button. The other
wire, Red/Green should ground through the clutch switch and /or side stand
switch. Double check battery condition and connectors.
