Motorcycle Repair: fuses, honda cb360t, fuse blows

Question
I have a 1976 Honda CB360T. In the fuse box there are 3 fuses. My 15A fuse keeps blowing. The bike starts and runs and within a few minutes the fuse blows and and the bike shuts off and I have no power to the lights or starter. I just replaced the coils, points and points base plate. Could you please point me in the right direction to determine the cause of this fuse blowing. Thank you for your assistance.

Answer
Jim,
the 15A fuse I think you are talking about
goes from the battery to the ignition switch.
You may have a loose base on the ignition switch.
You might want to try a heavier fuse to see
if it still blows. It might just be the wires
getting less conductive as they age or poor
connections somewhere. Clean any grounds
and inspect any connectors you can see.
A poor connection can cause an increase in
current which can blow fuses.
Check if any wires were pinched after
the coils were installed.
You may have to try disconnecting things
one at a time until the trouble is located.
