Question
Hi Mark,
I have read some of your answers and am very impressed with your answers. So i have a
question of my on. I was riding my bike in the late fall and i made an ordinary turn. i was
speeding up and then a car pulled out in front of me. so naturally i had to get off the gas
fast and i took it out of gear. At this point i noticed the bike was quieter than usual. when i
got to the stop sign, while gliding there i realized that it had shut off. when i tried to start it
again it wouldn't start. i parked it and went back to try it again after school. when i
returned to it i was able to start it but i couldn't let it idle, because it would shut off on its
own. During this i also noticed that the bike started smoking a lot more than usual. it
wasn't normal exhaust, it was thick and hung in the air. when i got it home i pulled the
spark plug and it was dark and black looking, so i replaced it. i don't know whether it is a
compression problem or maybe a blown ring. I hear that your good so if you could please
let me get back to me that would be terrific.

Much Appreciated,
Joe Reardon

Answer
Usually I would say the lingering smoke would be from coolant however this is a air cooler motor, could be an excess of fuel, clogged Pilot jet, Its also very possible your Main jet fell out and is sitting in the bottom of the float bowl...See where those leads get you.
Hard to say with out hearing it or seeing the smoke...
Hope this helps!
