Motorcycle Repair: Fluid replacement, suzuki gsxr, paint finishes

Question
When replacing the coolant in a Suzuki Gsxr is there any specific kind i should use or will any kind work? The same thing for brake oil too?

Answer
Hi Chris,

You can use 50/50 blend of coolant and water of the brand you prefer.

You can use DOT4 brake fluid or synthetic brake fluid. Synthetic fluids have higher boiling temperatures and will not harm paint finishes. Synthetic fluids lack the firm lever feel of DOT fluids. Unless racing endurance roadraces, you won't boil the brake fluid.
