Motorcycle Repair: wireing problem, fuse box, negative terminal

suzuki vs 750 1989 bike seems to have a problem with grounding 12 volts running through what should be ground bike was in an accident that is how I got it years ago trying to get it running no visable dammage to harness open for sugestions thanks Mark

not sure if I have enough information to figure
this out. If your positive battery terminal
goes to the fuse box and the negative terminal goes
to ground,like the frame or engine, that is a negative
ground system. How and what part are you checking
for power etc? If a ground wire is live,
it might be shorted to a live wire somewhere,
but usually that will blow one of your fuses.
