Motorcycle Repair: 1999 suzuki katana, vacuum pressure, fueltank

Question
I have a 1999 suzuki katana it has a vortex keyless gas cap.My problem is when its hot out side and it sits in direct sun light and the tank gets hot it fills up the air box and raw gas and starts to pour out the air box drain tube.I mean it is like someone turned on a sink it also becomes extremely hard to start like its flooded.Unsure how to fix or what to do.Need help thank you for your time.

Answer
Philip,
It sounds like the vortex cap does not have a vent
to keep vacuum/pressure from building up.
This is not good as you have found out
and may even be a fire danger.
Install a gas tank breather, which lets
air in and out, http://www.thinkauto.com/onewayvalves.htm
or check into some vented caps here:
