Motorcycle Repair: charging sys 95 harley dynowide glide, power meters, ac voltage

1340cc i have changed the battery .voltage regulator. cleaned battery termals and ck for lose connections . problem in that i can drive 10 or 15 miles and cuts off like no battery power meters reads 9 volts when this happen  ck while running reads 13.2v i think the alt is bad  Now haw do u change the alt thanks

You have to remove the whole primary drive to get to the alternator.  I don't recommend it if you haven't done it before.  Check the AC voltage across your alt. plug terminals.  It should be around 40 volts AC at 2000 rpm.  Also check to see if either terminal is grounded.  That happens more often.
