Motorcycle Repair: 2004pw 80, granite counter tops, head gasket

QUESTION: i had just bought a 2004 pw80 and it was making a weird noise coming from the head. my first tought was it needed a top end. well i tore it apart and checked it and nothing looks wrong with it at all no scratches no heat marks no abnormal ware. the guy i bought it from said his son only rode it for less than 10 hrs. i could tell from only being allittle deposite on the head.but i cant figure it out. the rod is not messed up is with in tollarances of what its soupose to be. it almost sounds if the pistion was hitting the spark plug but it wasnt.is there something im missing? it didnt do it when it was going slow when it idled high and when it you got on it but it is loud. any suggestions? thanks
ANSWER: I think that this is one of those things that i think id have to be there.chech all of the motor mounts especially where the shaft drive connects in the back.

QUESTION: they are all tight. im going to put a new piston and rings and bearings int the top end since i have it part. but its comeing rite from the head. it was also having idleing problmes if that helps. i took and cleaned the carb and checked the reeds all good i cleaned the air filter.i ran out of ideas tough. if its out of time would that cause a problem like that?

IS THE HEAD GASKET LEAKING AT ALL?PLACE THE HEAD...IDEALLY ON A MACHINED SURFACE...DO YOU HAVE MARBLE OR GRANITE COUNTER TOPS...DONT DO IT YOU WIFE WILL KILL YOU.PLACE IT ON THE FLATTEST SURFACE POSSIBLE THAT YOU HAVE, GRAB A SET OF FEELER GAUGES AND CHECK AND SEE IF THE HEAD HAS WARPED.SOMETIMES THE GASKET MIGHT NOT LEAK WHEN THE HEAD IS WARPED.THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN .002 OF CLEARANCE AT ANY POINT.tIMING WOULD AFFECT IT BUT IT WOULD BE MORE LIKE A PINGING NOISE MORE THAN A KNOCK.OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD I DONT THINK THAT THE TIMING IS ADJUSTABLE ON THE 50.I BELIEVE THAT THE TIMING IS FIXED.
