Motorcycle Repair: 98 Wide Glide, head lamp, local h

Intermitent power.  After approx. 100 miles of riding the Tack, speedo, odometer, and lighting became intermitent.  This did not affect the engine and I was able to ride the bike home less all lighting and the above functions with the exception of a very dim head lamp.  When I arrived home I was not able to restart the bike.  With 15 minutes on the trickel charger it started and and everything functioned properly.  I have also noticed a low level hum coming from the odometer.  I don't know if this is related but I have never noticed it before.  Any clues.

Hi Steve, Call your local H-D dealer to verify that there are no outstanding recalls on your motorcycle. This sounds as though you have a loose, or bad connection. Check the battery, and main circuit breaker connections. Also, might want to check the charging system ?
