Motorcycle Repair: GoKart 150cc engine Wont idle, carburator, throttle cable

The carburator on our little gokart will start but not idle. Someone sugessted putting alcohol in the tank. Can you offer us any help?

Hi Ronald,

If the gas has varnished (gummed) the carburetor and entire fuel system will need to be inspected and thoroughly cleaned to restore proper performance.

It's possible that the engine speed idle screw needs turned a bit to raise RPM and maintain an idle.

Another possibility is throttle cable/linkage adjustment.
